Laura Loman
Laura Loman is a PhD candidate in the department of Dermatology at the University Medical Center Groningen. Her thesis focuses on several important aspects of the pathogenesis and epidemiology of hand eczema. She will present during the conference on Thursday, talking about several epidemiological aspects of hand eczema.

Why will you attend the ESCD2022 meeting?
The ESCD2022 conference is an excellent opportunity to gain more in-depth information on the most up to date research results regarding contact dermatitis and allergic skin disease. This will enrich my knowledge of interesting aspects broader than my own thesis topic. In addition, it also provides possibilities to meet, interact and network with experts in the field of contact dermatitis and allergic skin disease from around the world. (organizing committee)
What will be your contribution at the ESCD2022?
This year, a specific focus session addressing hand eczema is incorporated in the ESCD2022 program, and I am honored that I have the opportunity to speak in this session. The presentation will cover the prevalence and severity of (chronic) hand eczema in the Dutch general population. In addition, topics as exposure to irritants and occupational and lifestyle factors will also be addressed. Besides to expand knowledge about clinical and relevant epidemiological results on hand eczema, I also hope to inspire other junior researchers in their research projects.
Any other thoughts worth sharing?
Hopefully, I will see you all at the ESCD2022 in Amsterdam, to meet and talk about ongoing research projects and share thoughts and opinions on current work. I am especially keen to meet other PhD candidates and junior researcher to exchange our experiences.
