Dear reviewer,

Thank you for accepting your role as abstract reviewer for the ESCD Congress 2022. All authors have submitted their abstracts in an online tool. Below you will find an instruction on how to log in to this tool and review the individual abstracts. You will  give your recommendation to the chair of the scientific committee. The chair will make the final decision on acceptance or rejection based on the advice of all reviewers. Please review the abstracts at the latest on Thursday February 3, 2022.

Abstract Tool

Process

• Each abstract will be reviewed by a team of two reviewers. Team 1 consists of Prof.dr. Pieter-Jan Coenraads & Dr. Mark Wilkinson. Team 2 consists of Prof.dr. Margarida Goncalo & Prof.dr. Ana Maria Giménez-Arnau.
• Each team reviews 68 or 69 abstracts. All authors have let us know their preferred presentation method. You can find this preference under the title of the abstracts after “Presentation:”. There are three options: Oral, Poster and No preference.
• All abstracts with a preference for Poster can be accepted if the quality is good enough. The authors will be invited to present it at the conference.
• The most important taks of the reviewer is to accept 41 abstracts out of 48 abstracts that have “Oral” of “No Preference” as the presentation method. You will read how to do this in the following section.

Reviewing of abstracts

After the login, please visit the page called “My Review List”. This page shows all the abstracts that need your review. To review an abstract, click on the abstract title. This will take you to the content of the abstract.

Rating
Please let us know your rating of the abstract by selecting a number between 0 and 5.

Recommendation
Please give your recommendation: Accept or Decline (do not use the option “Send back for amendments”). There are four options:

• Accepting an abstract with method “Oral or No preference” means that it will be accepted as an oral presentation.
• Declining an abstract with method “Oral or No preference” means that it will be downgraded to a poster presentation. If the quality is too low even for a poster, please mention this in the comments field.
• Accepting an abstract with method “poster” means that it will be accepted as a poster presentation. If you think it should be upgrade it to an oral presentation, please mention this in the comments field.
• Declining an abstract with method “poster” means that there will be no presentation at all at the congress.

Comments
Filling in the comments field is required.

• If you have no specific comments, please enter a minus sign (-).
• If the quality of the abstract is too low, please mention this in the comments field.
• If you have accepted an abstract for an oral presentation and it fits in one of the focus sessions (see overview below), then please mention this.

Click submit to enter your review and repeat the steps above for all abstracts that have been assigned to you.
